YearOne and the Hot Rodders Children's Charity Request Your Participation! We're all about the hobby; and hobbies are all about the people. There are times when those people pull together for a common cause, and this is one of those times.
The HRCC is a not-for-profit charity organized by fellow enthusiasts, whose purpose is to raise funds in support of medical research focused on the causes of and potential cures for childhood diseases. HRCC also supports organizations aiding at-risk youths or children with disabilities and their families both on local and national levels.
This year, HRCC and YearOne have teamed up with automotive design guru and TV star Chip Foose for a benefit car show on September 20th. 100% of the proceeds from this car show will be donated to the Progeria Research Foundation. Progeria is a fatal disease, reavealing itself through "rapid-aging" causing death from heart disease and other complications at an average age of 13. The Progeria Research Foundation is the only organization in the world dedicated exclusively to finding a cure for Progeria. To learn more about progeria click here.
Even though the show is held at YearOne's home base in Braselton, GA, the effects of Progeria and other childhood diseases reach every corner of this country; and the world. With that in mind, YearOne would like to request your participation in the show, whether near or far.
PRF Executive Director Audrey Gordon said "For the past three years, YearOne and HRCC has been a leading supporter of the Progeria Research Foundation". Over the past two years we have been able to raise over $200,000 through the generosity of the hot rodding community, vendors, customers, and friends of YearOne.
For those of you unable to attend the event, we are asking you to make a comfortable contribution, and help us make the 2008 PRF donation the largest ever!
HRCC is accepting donations by calling 1-800-932-7663, or click here to go to YearOne.com. In the quantity box, enter the amount you wish to donate and your credit card will be charged accordingly. Remember 100% of any amount donated by you will go directly to the Progeria Research Foundation.
We hope you will help us with this worthy cause and we appreciate your loyalty to our company. This is a great opportunity for the automotive community to leave their mark - for the kid's sake!
Sincerely,Kevin L. KingPresident

Lost in Time
I have been to quite a few car shows in recent years , and it appears that we are losing our most treasured history, the antique cars from the 20' 30' and 40's. You can see the hot rod versions of these vehicles at many shows, fiberglass reproductions hot rods which have their place, but I am talking about the stock Ford Chevy Dodge from the early decades. Have these cars all gone hiding? are they in storage not wanted by the next generation of auto enthusiast? is this the future of the car hobby? Each generation holds on to a car that they remember as a child and let the past vehicles fall into a void? let's hope not.
